The 2nd EU Film Festival Nanjing activities were inaugurated yesterday. Benita Ferrero-Waldner, EU Commissioner for External Relations and Vice Governor Cao Weixing co-unveiled the festival. After the opening ceremony, the audience appreciated the opening film——the Austrian film Mozart in China.

        As one important exchange activities of the EU-China Summit, the festival was sponsored by EU Delegation to China. From November 30 to December 4, the organizer would screen five films from an array of films of 27 EU member states in XinJiekou International Film Art Center. To enable the audience appreciate the original flavor of the culture of Europe, every film would be screened in their original sound accompanied by Chinese and English captains. All the films to be played were new works in recent years and had never been shown in China before. Various types of films would fully demonstrate the diversified charm of EU countries and satisfy the diversified demand of Chinese audience.
