Huang Lixin Meets with Sri Lanka’s UNP Executive Leadership Delegation

  Ms. Huang Lixin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor, met with the executive leadership delegation headed by Mr. Kabir Hashim, General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP) and Minister for Development of State-owned Enterprises of Sri Lanka, in Nanjing on July 3, 2017.

  Ms. Huang expressed her welcome to the delegation. She noted, Jiangsu and Sri Lanka have maintained long-term friendly exchanges and carried out fruitful cooperation in economy, trade and investment recently. Jiangsu is ready to strengthen exchanges with Sri Lanka under the “Belt and Road” initiative, seek new cooperation opportunities and tap into new development potential. We hope the two sides will deepen trade cooperation to expand the sized of foreign trade; step up cooperation in infrastructure, production capacity and equipment manufacturing investment to co-build industrial belts; enhance people-to-people exchanges to promote exchanges in tourism, culture, education, sports, health and the youngsters and constitute a more solid foundation for long-term bilateral cooperation.

  Mr. Kabir Hashim noted, the friendship between Sri Lanka and China dates back to the era of the ancient silk road, and our friendship has made new progress over the past years. During our visit in Jiangsu, we have learned good experience, which can be applied to Sri Lanka’s economic development. Sri Lanka is ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Jiangsu in development of industrial parks, tourism, manufacturing and culture.
