The 2008-2009 Jiangsu Outstanding Literary and Artistic Works Awards the Call of the Times came on in the Telecast Hall of Jiangsu TV Station on January 30. Liang Baohua, Luo Zhijun, Yang Xinli, Bai Suning, Zhang Jiuhan and other officials of the provincial leadership were present and awarded prizes to the winners at the show.

        In the past two years, with the appraisal of the “Best Works Awards” as the vanguard, masterpieces emerged in large numbers in literary and artistic creation field in our province. In the appraisal of the 11th National “Best Works Award”, ten pieces were awarded, including the TV series the Vicissitudes, and the second prize of Organization Awards was conferred on Jiangsu. Since October 2007, Jiangsu has won over 480 prizes during such state-level appraisal as the Jinying Awards, the Jinzhong Awards, the Jinxiang Awards, the Wenhua Awards, the Feitian Awards, the Huabiao Awards, the Xingguang Awards, the Mudan Awards, the Hehua Awards, the Shanhua Awards, the Lanting Awards, the Stars Awards, the Luxun Awards,  China Government-giving Publishing Awards, Chinese Art Exhibition and the National Fine Stage Arts Project. Moreover, nearly one hundred notable activities hosted or organized by Jiangsu, including Jinling China Exhibition of 100 Pieces of Paintings, the Folk Music Competition of Chinese Music “Golden Bell Awards”, Jiangsu China Folk Music Festival and the Exhibition of Paintings of the National Art Exhibition, are another highlight in the culture field of Jiangsu.

        Liang Baohua and Luo Zhijun awarded the Honorary Awards of the 7th Jiangsu’s Development of Socialist Culture and Ethics “Best Works Awards” to the ten productions which had won the National “Best Works Awards”. The awarding ceremony also gave prizes to the winners of the 7th Jiangsu “Best Works Awards”. The Honorary Awards were conferred on the representatives of the Gold Medal Award winners covering 13 art categories.
