Governor Luo Zhijun met with Kim Han Kyu, Chairman of 21st Century Korea-China Exchange Association May 21 in Nanjing. Kim Jeong Kee, Consul-General of South Korea in Shanghai, was also present at the meeting.
Governor Luo said Jiangsu and South Korea have a strong basis for trade and economic cooperation. The trade volume between the two sides accounted for more than 20% of the total volume of Sino-Korean trade last year. Korean multinational corporations like Hyundai, Samsung, Kumho, LG and Hynix have invested in Jiangsu with good investment returns. Currently, the development of the global financial crisis has brought certain pressure and challenges for both sides. Jiangsu has adopted a series of countermeasures, and generally speaking, the economy is changing for the better. He believes that sooner or later, through concerted efforts of all the countries around the world, the world economy will warm up. He hopes that Chairman Kim Han Kyu will provide more support and assistance to the future communication and cooperation between the two sides.
